Rangers head coach Danny Rohl tells BBC Scotland: "I'm very happy and pleased for my group. You never know what will happen in a cup game, you have to take it very seriously. Today, we did our job.

"It was very professional. We scored early, this is always helpful in such a game. It was about being hungry for more. Second half, they went very deep but we did well.

"We spoke about the final third, how to break them down, the runs we need. It showed that our squad is ready. A lot of players are ready.

"When I took over, it was about finding a group to find wins and get balance. Now, win by win, we feel the confidence. Everyone is now focused on the next game because we have a big week ahead.

"We need a lot of intensity [on Wednesday]. Motherwell keep the ball well. We have to press. At Ibrox, we won 1-0 but had other good opportunities. We want to show what we can do."

Rohl is hopeful centre-back Emmanuel Fernandez and striker Youssef Chermiti will be back for the trip to Fir Park.

Rangers have a huge league game at Motherwell on Wednesday (19:45 GMT). There's serious potential for that game to be a cracker at Fir Park.

Queen's Park's next match is also a biggie, going to fellow Championship strugglers Ross County on Saturday (15:00).

Queen's Park manager Sean Crighton tells BBC Scotland: "I don't think we turned up on the day. It's not something I've had to say often about this group this year.

"We got the basics wrong all over the pitch, set-plays, the goals we concede - especially in the first half. We had to change something for damage limitation.

"We'd done done our homework, we know no matter who delivers the ball in, it will be of really good quality. We needed to mark up better. It was a really disappointing day. We were miles off it.

"I do think we could have turned up more. The concentration needs to be a lot better and we need to maintain that. This will hurt for a couple of days, but we need to use that hurt."

I felt Rangers would win comfortably. Beforehand, we were trying to make a case for Queen's Park after last year but the circumstances were very different.

In all honesty, the game was won as soon as the second goal went in. There was no way back for Queen's Park. Defensively, they have to do so much better.

They made a difficult afternoon more difficult for themselves.

Naderi is presented with the player of the match award, but the young striker insists on giving it to Tavernier for scoring his first career hat-trick.

Tavernier refuses. He's happy enough with the match baw.

"We have to be at it [at Motherwell] and keep pushing each other. Everyone's pushing themselves to get into the starting XI."

On Ryan Naderi, Tavernier says: "Great first start for the big man, he's going to be a real asset going forward."

And the striker adds: "Amazing feeling, I had a lot of joy on the pitch and tried to appreciate every second with the boys."
