Southampton are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table with just six points from 18 matches, and are nine points from safety.

They are winless in their last 16 Premier League away games, scoring just one goal across their last five fixtures on the road.

Crystal Palace have been a bit up and down recently, winning two, losing one, and drawing three of their past six matches.

But the home fans will fancy three points today. Palace could equal their longest league winning streak against Southampton of four matches, set in 1991. The more you know...

Southampton have just six points after 18 games. Only two teams have had as few at this stage of a Premier League season, and both finished bottom - Sunderland in 2006 and Sheffield United in 2021.

The fewest points a team has had at the halfway stage of a Premier League campaign and avoided relegation is 10 by West Bromwich Albion in 2004-05.

Crystal Palace are definitely showing more mettle at the moment, and they were very well organised in their 0-0 draw at Bournemouth.

To be fair to Southampton, the same can already be said for them under new manager Ivan Juric. I know they lost to West Ham in his first game in charge, but they could have got something out of it.

Saints seem to have changed their style - from purists to pumping it - but there is nothing wrong with being direct, and they showed their resilient side when they got a draw at Fulham before Christmas, when Juric was watching from the stands.

I am expecting another close game here, but Palace will probably edge it.

Leicester and Manchester City meet with just two wins in their last 24 combined games in all competitions.

The pair are in the bottom three of the Premier League form table, with just Southampton for company, having only earned five points in their last nine games.

Victory for Leicester would, potentially briefly, lift them out of the relegation zone while a win for the visitors would still not be good enough to make the top four.

After defeat by leaders Liverpool at Anfield on Boxing Day, struggling Leicester City face another tricky task in champions Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola's side are in miserable form with only one win from 14 matches in all competitions but Foxes boss Ruud van Nistelrooy is well aware of the threat they still possess.

"I know the quality of that squad, that team, that manager," Van Nistelrooy said. "I'm focusing on that. We have to prepare for a great performance on our side. Being where we are, we need to be spot on in all the parts of football to get a result."

A run of three straight defeats, coupled with two successive wins for Wolves, have dropped Leicester into the relegation zone.

"All the 20 games we will play are massive," added Van Nistelrooy. "We know that a certain amount of points are necessary to stay in [the Premier League] and every second of every game is big for us. That's the Premier League and that is for every team.

"There is constant pressure to perform and get results."

For me the issue at Man City is not the creativity at the top end of the pitch it is how they close teams down.

When they were at their best they would smother teams, they made it so difficult for them to get out, the midfield press was so high, so they would be only 30 yards from goal.

Now they get counter attacked too easily, they get cut through in midfield, and they don't win the ball high enough to create further up field.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he will "not give up" as he aims to turn around the champions' recent form.

City, who have won six of the past seven Premier League titles, have won just one of their past 13 league games, losing nine.

It has put Guardiola under immense pressure, but he has vowed not to walk away or blame any of his players.

"I will try, I will keep going," he said before City travel to Leicester on Sunday afternoon.

"I will not give up. I want to be here. I want to do it and, with the situation that we have, we have to do it.

"Of course I want it [to end the bad run], everyone wants it. I don't want to disappoint my people in terms of the club, the fans, the people who love this club.

"I think all of us in our job want to do it well and please the people. That is undeniable, not a question mark.

"The biggest test is to come back again, but we have done that before."

The big alteration sees Albania striker Armando Broja make his first Toffees start since joining the club on-loan from Chelsea, coming in for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Ange Postecoglou sounded a bit deflated after Tottenham's defeat at Nottingham Forest. While I still think he has brought so much to the Premier League, you cannot deny he needs a positive result or two.

It definitely does not help that he is so short of fit centre-backs at the moment and, overall, says this is the worst injury crisis he has ever faced as a manager.

Ange is just going to have to get on with it, but this game looks a lot tougher than it might have done a couple of weeks ago.

Wolves have won their first two matches under new manager Vitor Pereira and, after shipping a load of goals under Gary O'Neil, they kept two clean sheets too.

I am still backing Spurs here though, despite their defensive issues. They did not score against Forest but had some decent chances and, at home, I think they will find a way to win.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Tottenham could be without any fit centre-backs against Wolves after Ben Davies suffered a setback in his recovery.

The Wales international, 31, has been out since 5 December with a hamstring injury.

Davies had been nearing a return, but manager Ange Postecoglou said on Friday: "No, he is ruled out. Unfortunately he had a setback in training, so he'll probably be out for a couple of weeks."

Radu Dragușin will also be assessed after he was forced off with an ankle injury in Thursday's defeat by Nottingham Forest.

If the Romanian is ruled out he would join Davies and Spurs' other centre-backs Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero on the sidelines.

"A bit early to tell," Postecoglou said of Dragușin's injury.

"He obviously tweaked his ankle last night and felt he couldn't continue. We'll have to wait and see."

Will Ange be forced into the market in January?
