As the half has gone on Liverpool have got bogged down in certain areas of the field.

They're allowed possession, but they can't make something of it.

Liverpool have not been getting much joy from crosses so Trent Alexander-Arnold tries to catch Leicester out with a pretty ambitious shot from distance, but it flies well over.

I've had a lollipop next to my computer from my Christmas collection of sweets that I meant to unwrap at kick off but I've just not had chance, such has been the pace of this first half. It has flown by.

Leicester have defended the crosses quite well. They do have a lot of bodies back.

Liverpool mix it up with their eighth corner of the game by playing it short. They work the ball across the edge of the box and back again before a delivery into the box is headed away.

Joe Gomez is then booked for a foul and Leicester have a free-kick midway inside the Liverpool half.

More pressure on the Leicester defence as Trent Alexander-Arnold sends the ball to the back post, Andy Robertson hooks it back into the middle but Leicester put behind for another corner. The delivery again isn't the best as the visitors clear.

Corner number six for Liverpool. The fog from our angle suggests it will be tough to see who is in the box and the delivery fails to beat the first man with Bilal El Khannouss heading away.

Patson Daka, after some treatment, is up and able to continue and Liverpool resume their pursuit of an equaliser.

Patson Daka is down injured. The game goes on as Liverpool attack, ball after ball is sent into the box but they are repelled before the referee stops play, with Daka still on the floor.

Jakub Stolarczyk gets a bit of good fortune.

Liverpool denied by the woodwork again!

This time it is Andy Robertson's header that strikes the upright before the ball is scrambled behind for a Liverpool corner, which comes to nothing.

Liverpool keep up the pressure for an equaliser as Mohamed Salah gets the ball inside the box. Four blue shirts quickly surround him and Salah's shot clips one of them and loops onto the roof of the net.

He saw Cody Gakpo on his way, but Gakpo misses it and doesn't get the final contact.

Leicester are looking a threat on the counter - helped by the amount of space Liverpool are leaving at the back and Stephy Mavididi again leads the charge up the pitch before flicking a curled pass into the box but Patson Daka just can't quite reach it.
