Everton manager Sean Dyche speaking to BBC Sport: "There was a lot of effort and commitment to the cause from the players. Manchester City are a good outfit though we know there are a few questions marks over them recently. They are going to turn something over at some point quite heavily in the way they play and the quality they have. I thought we managed that with our defensive strength and organisation. I am very proud of the players."

On Jordan Pickford's penalty save: "It's a great save. People might say it's not as good a penalty as Erling Haaland could create, but it's still a good save. He is down sharp and he had to react quickly.

"We had two or three chances in the second half. It's a good thing for me to see the desire and intent of the players to go and win the game. It was so evident today."

On Everton's recent run: "All teams in the Premier League are tough. Arsenal and Chelsea have been scoring goals for fun this season. We need to find that balance. We still have good teams to play. We are not too high with the highs and not too low with the lows. That's what I try to get into the players. No fear, no regrets. We take everyone on."
