It's about trying to control the game early on. Maeda will be a threat early on, but normally these Italian teams are good defenders.

They're well coached in defending. The danger for Celtic will be in the wide areas.

[Bologna winger] Jonathan Rowe is a quick, sharp, intelligent fella. He's got that dynamism about him and he's the one Celtic will have to be careful with.

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill tells TNT Sports: "It's a difficult game for us. We've left ourselves in a bit of a predicament trying to qualify in the top 24.

"We probably need four points from two games, which is a difficult task. We're going to throw everything at it and do our very best to get a result.

Martin O'Neill has named 10 of the starting 11 that came from behind to defeat Feyenoord during his interim spell in charge in November, with just Sebastian Tounekti in for Luke McCowan.

That apart, it is the side that started in De Kuip. That result has given them a real shot at qualification despite last month's loss to Roma.

Ten points should be enough to reach next month's knockout play-off round, with Celtic currently sitting on seven.

Captain Callum McGregor is making his 65th start in European football for Celtic tonight, with only the legendary Billy McNeill making more for the club (69).

I'm looking forward to seeing Lewis [Ferguson] - you always keep an eye on how he's getting on. He's been in and out of the team, struggling to nail down a starting spot.

We know what team his family supports, that adds a little bit to it, but first and foremost he'll want to guarantee qualification and get back in the side, show the manager what he can do.

This is a Bologna side who aren't firing on all cylinders domestically.

Bologna and Scotland midfielder Lewis Ferguson - on more media duties and wearing a belting CP Company jacket - has just told TNT Sports: "These two games in the Europa League are a real chance, so we need to put the bad run of form to one side."

Bologna captain Lewis Ferguson is targeting a first win over Celtic tonight.

The Scotland midfielder has played against Celtic 16 times in his career, once with Hamilton and the others at Aberdeen.

While there have been 13 defeats in that run, Ferguson has scored seven goals in those matches.

"I've never really thought about it, every time I've faced them they've been a good team," said the 26-year-old.

"At Aberdeen we had a good team but didn't quite have enough, so it would be good to change that stat.

"It was probably the first game I looked to when I saw the draw."

If there is a good time for Celtic to play any team away in Europe, now might be a decent time to face Bologna.

With just one win in 90 minutes in their last nine matches, the form of the 'Rossoblu' has dropped markedly since a 12-game unbeaten run from the end of September to December.

They are without a clean sheet in 14 games and appear vulnerable.

Manager Vincenzo Italiano, known for heavily rotating his squad, demanded a reaction against Celtic after Saturday's 2-1 home defeat by Fiorentina.

He made four half-time changes in response to an insipid first half during which his side went 2-0 down.

That said, they still sit eighth in Serie A and have only been defeated by a John McGinn goal at Villa Park in the Europa League so far.

I think Celtic will play more defensively tonight, more on the counter attack, which will allow Daizen Maeda to use his pace.

That's Johnny Kenny's game also. The problem for Johnny is he isn't putting the ball in the back of the net, even though he's doing everything else.
