More work for St Mirren goalkeeper Ellery Balcombe to do.
Reo Hatate's defence-splitting pass sends Adam Idah in on goal but his fairly tame effort is blocked by Balcombe.
Another incisive move from the visitors.
St Mirren 0-1 Celtic
Richard Taylor does well to hold off Adam Idah as Celtic try to break. St Mirren try to turn defence into attack but Toyosi Olusanya is offside. Frustrating for the hosts.
St Mirren 0-1 Celtic
With his goal today, Callum McGregor has moved on to two goals for the campaign - his tally for the whole of last season.
The Celtic captain has also now scored in each of the 11 Scottish Premiership campaigns since 2014-15 - the only player to do so.

St Mirren 0-1 Celtic
St Mirren just cannot get a hold of the ball just now. Celtic are crowding them out all over the attacking half.
St Mirren 0-1 Celtic
Ellery Balcombe keeps St Mirren just the one goal down. The goalkeeper does well to block Reo Hatate's shot from inside the box and Adam Idah's follow-up, though Idah looked offside.
St Mirren 0-1 Celtic
Celtic have made a habit of scoring early goals this season. This is the third game in a row in which they have scored in the opening four minutes.

St Mirren 0-1 Celtic
Reo Hatate tries to slip a pass through to James Forrest in the St Mirren box but the ball just skids away from the Celtic winger and out for a goal kick. It was almost an excellent one-two from the duo.

Of course, Scotland coach Steve Clarke, who is in the stands, can no longer call on Celtic captain Callum McGregor following the midfielder's international retirement.
Clarke did see James Forrest have a hand in the opening goal, however, while Celtic left-back Greg Taylor is a likely inclusion in the next Scotland squad.

Fine strike from Callum McGregor, with a bit of dip and swerve on it. The rain and wind making it even more difficult to stop. I wonder, though, if Ellery Balcombe could, and should, have been able to tip that round his left hand post?
St Mirren 0-1 Celtic
Alex Gogic goes in heavily on Celtic's Daizen Maeda and it's a clear booking for the St Mirren midfielder.
This is not the start to the match the hosts were hoping for.

Celtic's one-touch passing was too quick for St Mirren, and it's a really good hit from Callum McGregor.
It bounces in front of Ellery Balcombe on this skiddy surface, and he has no chance.
Callum McGregor
No messing around from Celtic as they take a third-minute lead.
James Forrest skips along the right side of the penalty area and finds his captain Callum McGregor, who sets himself and smacks a shot into the bottom right corner.
A second goal of the season for McGregor.

St Mirren 0-0 Celtic
Scotland coach Steve Clarke is in attendance at today's game and is well shielded from the rain by the looks of things.
Clarke played for St Mirren between 1982 and 1987.

Not gonna sugar-coat this, it's a foul day here in Paisley. It's pouring rain, it's windy, it's cold. It's supposed to be August. Horrendous. Let's hope the players cope better with it than I am. Laptop soaked.

Matt O'Riley will maybe not win trophies like he has been at Celtic, but he'll be playing on the biggest stage and it's an opportunity to play against some of the best players in the world.
It will be difficult for Celtic to replace him because of the goals and assists he has provided.
Brendan Rodgers wants new additions, so it will be interesting to see if they can get a goal-scoring midfielder.
