Mansfield Town have signed veteran striker David McGoldrick on a one-year deal after he turned down an offer to remain with League One rivals Barnsley.
The Stags become the 12th club that McGoldrick, 38, has signed for in a professional career that has spanned 22 years.
He moves to One Call Stadium having scored 18 goals in 41 appearances in his solitary season with Barnsley.
McGoldrick's career has included spells at Bournemouth, Ipswich Town, Sheffield United, Southampton and Derby County, as well as Mansfield's two Nottinghamshire neighbours, Nottingham Forest and Notts County - the club where he emerged as a youngster.
Stags boss Nigel Clough said he was "absolutely thrilled" to land a striker with an "impeccable track record" - with the former Republic of Ireland international scoring almost 200 goals in nearly 680 appearances in his professional club career.
"The quality that he possesses in the final third was the main reason we pursued him," Clough told the club website., external
"Our assessment at the end of the season was that we needed a little difference in the final third. With the permanent signing of Tyler Roberts, and now David McGoldrick, to add to Rhys (Oates) and Will (Evans), it gives us good options in attack."
