Amorim refuses to back down in Man Utd kids row

Another memorable news conference with Ruben Amorim on Friday.
There has been a lot of debate about his comments last week in relation to academy duo Harry Amass and Chido Obi, both in terms of whether he should have been so critical of young players and then, in Amass' case, whether was even aware of their form.
Anyone who thought Amorim might have offered some contrition was wrong. The former Sporting coach was unrepentant.
He effectively said dealing with criticism is part of life at Manchester United and anyone who plays for the club needs to react to it in a positive way, rather than turning quotes back on the manager because the players believe them to be wrong.
It is a weird world where teenagers who have a handful of first-team appearances between them feel they can challenge the manager of Manchester United.
The club has changed a great deal since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. It is debatable how much of it has been for the better.
