Huddersfield Town have brought in goalkeeper Matty Young on a season-long loan from Sunderland.

Young has spent the last two seasons on loan in League Two with Salford City, playing 77 games for the Ammies.

Last season, the 19-year-old kept 15 clean sheets for Salford, while he has been given a contract at parent club Sunderland until 2030.

"Matty is one of the most highly rated young goalkeepers in the country, and we're delighted to bring him to the club," said, external Huddersfield sporting director Chris Markham.

Young follows Ashley Fletcher in joining the Terriers ahead of their League One campaign.
