Swindon Town have signed centre-back Stephan Negru on a two-year deal following his departure from Oxford United this summer.

The 23-year-old made 21 appearances for the U's after signing for them in December 2022 during which time he has also had loan spells at Salford, Bristol Rovers and Tranmere.

"He's a combative centre-back who is also very comfortable on the ball, and he'll be a great addition to our backline," Swindon manager Ian Holloway said.

"Although he is right-footed, he can play centrally, on the right side, or on the left side of defence."
