Barrow head coach Andy Whing says a more "proactive" approach in his squad is at the heart of their unbeaten run.

The Bluebirds have not lost any of their past seven League Two games, with only Premier League leaders Arsenal on a longer unbeaten run in any of England's top four divisions.

They had to come from two goals down last Saturday to draw at home to Grimsby Town, but it was a sign for Whing of how things have changed in the past few weeks.

"We've got options now to change it," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"Early part of the season, we were reactive to it, now we're being proactive. We can change shape, we can change personnel, the dynamic of how we play, and that's massively helped us."

Barrow's run consists of three wins and four draws and despite that spell, they are still only 15th in the table, equidistance in points from the play-off spots and the relegation places.

Ahead of a long trip to Bromley on Saturday, it is why Whing is still looking for more out of his players.

"There's still loads to improve on," he said.

"How we want to play, a lot of stats. Can we get those numbers up, two or three percent, and we'll be more consistent in games. At the moment, we're still having too many dips in games."
