Former Port Vale player and manager Martin Foyle has returned to the League Two club as chief scout.

Foyle left his role as head of recruitment at National League club Carlisle United to reunite with Vale boss Jon Brady, having previously worked with him at Northampton Town.

The 63-year-old was inducted into Vale's Hall of Fame this month, having scored 107 goals in 356 appearances in nine years at the club.

After retiring from playing in 2000, Foyle led the Valiants between 2004 and 2007.

His managerial career has also included stints at York City and Hereford United.
