Derby County have completed the signing of experienced defender Charlie Taylor.

The 32-year-old left-back has agreed a one-year deal with the Rams after his contract with Southampton expired.

Taylor has made more than 400 career appearances with 169 of those coming in the Premier League and more than 150 at Championship level.

He came through the ranks at Leeds, making 104 appearances at Elland Road before joining Premier League Burnley in 2017.

Taylor made 220 appearances at Turf Moor, helping the Clarets back to the top flight in 2023 and then making the switch to Southampton in the Premier League the following year.

After finding playing time hard to come by, the former England youth international spent last season on loan at West Brom where he appeared 28 times, more than double the amount he made in Saints colours across two seasons.

Taylor will join Derby for their pre-season campaign which begins with a friendly against Alfreton Town on Friday (19:00 BST).
