Chelsea's Paez agrees to join River Plate on loan

Chelsea have recalled midfielder Kendry Paez from partner club Strasbourg, with the Ecuador international set to join Argentine giants River Plate on a six‑month loan.
The 18‑year‑old returns to South America after making 21 Ligue 1 appearances for Strasbourg, who are also owned by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
Paez joined Chelsea from Independiente del Valle - the club that also produced Moises Caicedo - in a £17.2m deal in 2023.
He has yet to feature for Chelsea but trained with the squad in the United States during the Club World Cup.
