Plymouth Argyle fans should not expect much business in the January transfer window says boss Steven Schumacher.

Argyle brought in five new players 12 months ago to boost their title bid as they went on to win League One.

But Schumacher says much of his budget for this season in the Championship has already been committed.

"We were a bit more clear on what we needed last year and we knew where we wanted to strengthen," Schumacher told BBC Radio Devon.

"That plan was already in place before the season started, we knew that if we were going to be in and around the play-off places in January then there was going to be an opportunity to strengthen.

"This time it's a bit different, we have to have a few more conversations about what finances are available.

"We've pretty much used up all of our budget, so we have to consider that, plus we're pretty much up to strength of squad numbers of what we're allowed.

"There's targets, but we'll just see how the next few weeks pan out."
