That came from the 22-year-old from Taunton, whose 110 on Thursday - his second ton of the summer - set his side up in what turned out to be a textbook four-day performance.

Sheridon Gumbs (Leicestershire): It was just a third first-class match for the Foxes opener, but he produced an invaluable 93 in Leicestershire's second innings.

To produce his maiden half-century when his team needed it in a crucial game showed excellent signs for his future.

With Worcestershire starting to motor towards their victory target of 279, we will start to reveal who we've selected in our Team of the week.

A lovely late cut for two from Jake Libby completes Worcestershire's first 150 partnership of their championship season along with Dan Lategan..

It has been a little harder since tea and there are signs of more turn on the pitch.

The opening pair will need to accelerate at some point with the required rate now above five an over.

Now that Division One is over for this round, let's have a look at how results have affected the table.

There were wins for the top three but Somerset's 22-point success over Essex means they are now only two adrift of Nottinghamshire, who collected 19 from their excellent win at The Oval.

Warwickshire, after their thrilling one-wicket triumph over Sussex yesterday evening, are five behind Notts, with the two sides meeting at Edgbaston on Thursday.

Sussex and Glamorgan lost ground with defeats and are now more than one maximum-point win (24) behind top spot.

Yorkshire jump up two spots courtesy of their tense triumph over Hampshire this afternoon, which leaves the hosts bottom and 19 shy of safety. They are in big trouble.

But is the great escape on for Leicestershire? The Foxes have secured back-to-back wins after they saw off Glamorgan today and they are only three points shy of Surrey and 16 behind Essex.

Is it possible to believe that the seemingly all-powerful Brown Caps are in a relegation scrap?

A rare mistake from Ed Middleton allows Jake Libby to ease the pressure that had been building on Worcestershire.

A high full toss is slapped to the boundary to put Libby on 58

Another tidy over, this time from Ollie Price helped by an excellent stop for Sai Kishore.

Dan Lategan, on 84, may be feeling the pressure as he approaches what would be a maiden first-class century.

With five wins and a draw in their last six Championship games, Kent are a team in form and transformed from the early weeks of the season.

An excellent maiden from leg spinner Ed Middleton. He caused Dan Lategan some problems there.

Gloucestershire have tightened things a bit since tea and have pushed the Worcestershire required rate back up to nearly five-an-over.

A half-century for Jake Libby who scored four centuries, more than anyone else, in the recent One-Day Cup.

Libby has been happy to play second fiddle to Dan Lategan and the pair are pacing their run chase very nicely.

Following Durham's impressive three-day win over Derbyshire comes the news that pace bowler Brydon Carse is under investigation following a nightclub incident on Saturday evening.

Videos circulating on social media on Sunday appeared to show Carse in handcuffs, being led away from a club in Derby by four police officers.

"We are aware of an incident which is reported to have taken place in Derby last night, and are currently investigating," an ECB statement read. "We will provide a further update when possible."

Carse, who took two wickets in the game, is in England's squad for the second Test against Pakistan later this week.

Dan Lategan stands up straight to guide an Olly Price delivery to the boundary for four.

The 20-year-old, who Worcestershire have so much hope for, is on 79 and chasing two landmarks.

He'll want his maiden first class century and before that he'll be looking at his career best of 89.

It took a while to get going with the rain on Thursday, but since then the cricket has been good and matches have ebbed and flowed really nicely.

Hopefully the weather can hold for the next month and we can have an exciting climax in both divisions.

Gloucestershire may have mis-read this pitch when declaring to give Worcestershire 60 overs to score 279.

The Cheltenham pitch is taking some turn on the final day of the festival but probably not as much as the home captain Cameron Bancroft will have hoped for.

Dan Lategan and Jake Libby are taking full advantage of the opportunity and things will have to change dramatically after tea if Worcestershire are to be prevented from claiming their fourth win of the season.
