I am enjoying watching this. High skill levels and, generally, competitive. Will improve further as more countries offer support packages to their female cricketers.

  2. Ind 3-0published at 1 over

Some gentle shape on offer for Lucy Hamilton, who finds the inside edge of Smriti Mandhana's bat.

Fortunately for the India opener, it misses the stumps and she takes a single.

There’s India blue everywhere at Lord’s and a loud crowd.

I’m told this is a sellout so any empty seats are those not taken by hospitality, sponsors, members and the like.

    Should be great.

  4. Ind 1-0published at 0.3 overs

India are away as Smriti Mandhana works a single off her hip into the leg-side.

It's met by a huge cheer.

  5. Ind 0-0published at 14:31 BST 28 June

We've had the anthems and are just about ready to go at Lord's.

Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma are in the middle for India, while Lucy Hamilton has the new ball for Australia.

    Here we go...

Australia captain Sophie Molineux at the toss:

On toss: “We were going to have a bowl so that’s worked out well."

On changes: “Phoebe Litchfield is back in for Alana King, I think it’s just conditions match-ups today."

“We’ve had a break before this game so it’s built up really nicely.”

  7. 'Let's bat freely and set a decent total'published at 14:28 BST 28 June

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur at the toss:

"We’re going to bat first. It’s a very important game so we thought let’s just bat freely and set a decent total for us."

On changes: "We do have one change Kranti Gaud is back in the side. She has been bowling very well and these sort of pitches suit her, so we thought let’s bring her back."

On recent from v Australia: "It’s a fresh day, fresh mind, but those games have given us big confidence and today’s time to just enjoy ourselves."

  10. Who needs what?published at 14:19 BST 28 June

South Africa's narrow - and somewhat nervy - win over Bangladesh earlier today makes the equation pretty simple - India must now beat Australia to reach the semi-finals.

A thumping win for India could even see them leapfrog the Aussies at the top of Group 1.

An Australia victory would ensure they top the group and knock India out.

The group winners will play West Indies in the last four, with the runners-up facing unbeaten hosts England.

    All clear? Good.

  11. India win toss & choose to batpublished at 14:17 BST 28 June

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has won the toss and fancies having a bat.

Her Australia counterpart Sophie Molineux says she would have bowled in any case.

Both teams have made changes to their line-ups, which we will bring you shortly.
