Glamorgan spinner Mason Crane has joined county team-mate Asa Tribe in the England Lions squad playing three one-day matches against South Africa A.
Crane, 29, played his only Test in 2018 after two T20 internationals the previous year, and joined the Welsh county from Hampshire in 2024.
"It's great, nice to be recognised for doing well, and hopefully I can carry on what I've been doing," said Crane, who believes he is a better player than when he won senior honours.
"I never expect anything so it's great to be given the opportunity, I just try to bowl well whoever I'm playing for."
Opening batter Tribe recently featured in two Lions four-day games against the South African tourists, scoring a century in the first.
Crane and Tribe joined the Lions after Glamorgan's T20 Blast win at Somerset, with a late night taxi ride from Taunton to Leicester.
Crane was Glamorgan's most economical bowler conceding just a run a ball in a high-scoring game, while Tribe hit 48 as Glamorgan chased down a target of 203.
Unless released by the Lions, they would miss the county's matches at Worcestershire and Lancashire before re-joining the squad for the Championship trip to Sussex on 11 June.
Crane has taken 18 Championship wickets in six games in 2026, as well as posting a career-best score of 99.
"I'm excited (to play 50 overs cricket), I haven't played a lot for a few years now but I used to enjoy it and it's a different challenge," Crane told BBC Sport Wales.
"It wasn't necessarily the aim when I came to Glamorgan, the aim was just to get back to enjoying my cricket and playing a lot, so being able to contribute, it's a great feeling and I'm chuffed to bits.
"I believe I've got better every year since (playing for England), when I was first involved I was the youngest by a mile and now I'm one of the older ones in the Lions squad so it'll be a different dynamic for me."
The Lions host South Africa A in Leicester on Friday, 5 June, before facing them twice in Worcester, on Sunday, 7 and Tuesday, 9 June (all 11:00 BST).
