Figueroa has maybe lacked the speed, but effort is never a problem with him. He just needs to be more disciplined with his defence.

  3. Round 10published at 22:25 GMT 7 February

    Ball v Figueroa

It feels like there's a sense of nervousness in the arena.

We're not hearing those big roars of support for Ball that were there earlier when he was the one on top. It's tense now.

This round is much tighter than the previous couple that have likely gone the way of Figueroa.

I think Figueroa should fight with an orthodox stance, because works better from range.

    Ball v Figueroa

No sign of concern from Ball's corner:

"Championship rounds. This is your territory now. Tactically it's working. Catch him on the way in.

    "He's starting to blow now."

It will be interesting to see if the sheer volume of punches from Figueroa is going to be enough to catch the eye of the judges.

Ball is struggling to match Figueroa's pace now.

Figueroa has thrown over 100 more punches, but it is quality over quantity. He really needs to let go.

  10. Round sevenpublished at 22:13 GMT 7 February

    Ball v Figueroa

Ball might be the smaller fighter but he throws his weight around as Figueroa tries to tie up in the clinch. Ball flicks his arm and Figueroa stumbles across the ring.

Ball sneaks through the guard with a jab and rocks Figueroa's head. A check hook also finds a home.

Still the American relentlessly walks forward and lands with purpose to the body.

Carl Frampton on the DAZN commentary has the fight 68-65 in Ball's favour after seven rounds.

    Ball v Figueroa

Ball is starting to show some wear and tear. He's bloodied around the nose and mouth. There's also a bit of blood on his forehead but that might have just been carried up from a glove.

Figueroa is really settling into this contest. Ball is so used to seeing these power shots put his opponent on the backfoot but the American just keeps coming.

    Ball v Figueroa

    Darren Barker
Former world middleweight champion on DAZN

Nick Ball has ticked a lot of boxes in terms of opponents, he has come through those fights and I think he is the more all-rounder fighter.

Brandon Figueroa has been so fired up this week, though.

  19. Round twopublished at 21:53 GMT 7 February

    Ball v Figueroa

There's definitely more output from Figueroa but a lot of the shots are bouncing off Ball's gloves.

Ball is carefully selecting his punches and having greater impact. The champion is doing some really good work in close with punches to the body and head.

Ball also looks to have the speed advantage.

A little scrappier at times in that round.
