Wardley's head is swollen like an egg has been inserted under his eyelid.

    Wardley v Dubois

Boxing expert on BBC Radio 5 Live

Wardley has never been hurt like this. There is a case here for some mercy in the corner, there's a case for withdrawal.

I know he's tough but there are limits. His corner looks very unhappy, they know what is imminent.

  3. Round ninepublished at 23:31 BST 9 May

    Wardley v Dubois

Round nine starts and the referee takes Wardley over to the corner.

Wardley can't see out of his right eye and his nose is knackered.

    On we go.

Good scrap so far; both elite at British level, but not elite at world level. They both get hit too often, so neither of them can hang with Usyk (as proven with Dubois), Itauma and Fury beat them both easily as well, but still an entertaining contest here.

    Daniel, Cambridge

Wardley's getting a bit outclassed but his chin is something else.

There's a slight lapse in both the intensity of the contest and the pace. I think it favours both of them because they are both very tired.

We can call that one the breather round.

  6. Postpublished at 23:30 BST 9 May

    Wardley v Dubois

Hard to see anything other than a Dubois win here.

Wardley has two 10-8 rounds in round one and three, but has he won any other rounds?

  7. Round eightpublished at 23:30 BST 9 May

    Wardley v Dubois

Dubois may have been down twice but he's putting on a bit of a clinic here with his jab.

A straight left comes through and rocks Wardley right back into the corner. He stays on his feet... somehow.

Just when you think it's all over, Wardley comes back and catches Daniel Dubois with some big shots.

  9. Round eightpublished at 23:28 BST 9 May

    Wardley v Dubois

The referee is absolutely plastered in Wardley's blood as it floods from the scar on his nose.

Dubois keeps landing those heavy straights as Wardley keeps looking for that way in.

That stopped what could've been a crucial nine seconds. The noise in here is ridiculos. Fabio found something in the last 30 seconds.

I didn't think we'd be going this long.

What an earth is keeping Fabio Wardley upright? He's being hit by an anvil!

Wardley swings with everything he has and Dubois takes them as another round comes to an end.

Another big right hand lands on the chin of Wardley and he takes it.

He's made of different stuff, this fella.

How Wardley didn't hit the deck, I do not know. He is getting more tired as we go along, he's taking too many hits.

Fabio just dug deep, bit down on his gumshield and went wild. That was the wild west for 30 seconds. He took a beating and had no answer other than heart and desire.

It looks like a lost cause now.

  16. Round sevenpublished at 23:24 BST 9 May

    Wardley v Dubois

Wardley's right eye is almost closed and his nose is dripping with blood. I don't know how he's still in there.

Dubois needs to get the comeback win tonight to shake off the quitter tag he’s been given by some, probably harshly.

Fabio's face is a crimson mess.

  20. Round sixpublished at 23:22 BST 9 May

    Wardley v Dubois

Dubois lands a hard left but they both throw MASSIVE punches at each other.

Wardley is covered in blood and can barely stand. I don't know how hge's still standing. He needs the bell and soon or else Dubois is going to stop him.

    He makes it! Amazing.
