Ben Shalom said that he believes Gradus Kraus can become "the best light heavyweight in the world and a futute PPV star" after his win over Boris Crighton. He added that Kraus is looking for the big fights straight away.

Also worth mentioning, Shalom pointed out that Kraus fought for the first time as a southpaw this evening.

Bakhram Murtazaliev's body of work is very impressive - a perfect 23 wins with 17 by knockout - so finding an area of vulnerability is difficult.

But inactivity could be his Achilles heel. Murtazaliev has fought just five times in the last five years and hasn't stepped inside a ring for 15 months.

Questions have been raised over whether Murtazaliev has struggled with his weight cut this week but he came in comfortably under the limit and a pound lighter than Kelly.

Francesca Hennessy v Ellie Bouttell has been elevated to the main event after injuries ruled light-welterweight Adam Azim and his opponent Gustavo Lemos out of the card.

As expected, that’s had an impact on the crowd. The Copper Box’s multi-coloured seating is supposedly designed to make the arena look busier during quieter moments, but there are still some noticeable gaps around the venue tonight.

That said, several undercard fighters have brought along plenty of vocal support, helping to keep the atmosphere pretty lively. Hopefully, that carries through to the main event.

Adam Azim is at ringside tonight. He was headlining the event before injury forced him to withdraw from his contest with Gustavo Lemos last week.

Azim is here supporting his brother Hassan Azim, who stopped Sean Murray on the undercard. Adam's injury is not expected to sideline him for long and the Lemos fight should be rescheduled.

  15. From hypochondria to title shotpublished at 20:19 GMT 31 January

Josh Kelly was battling with chronic hypochondria - known formally as illness anxiety disorder - a condition that is characterised by an excessive, disabling fear of having a serious undiagnosed medical illness.

"I should have seen it coming even before that fight [against Avaneysan]" Kelly told BBC Sport.

"I used to go into fight week and have Lemsips stacked up - I'd have three or four a day and it was for no reason apart from thinking what if I get sick?

"That was just because I was putting pressure on myself to perform the best. I was thinking that everything had to be perfect for me to perform my best."

Anxiety around falling ill led to sleepless nights and Kelly recalls getting a "maximum of 11 or 12 hours" sleep during the entire week of the Avaneysan fight, which remains the only defeat of his career.

"One of the days when I was going to bed I looked at the mini bar, broke it open and got the two small bottles of whiskey to see if it would knock me out but it didn't do much," Kelly said.

"It wasn't like I was chronic drinking but it was just trying to find anything to help."

With the spotlight firmly on Hennessy, Ellie Bouttell could easily be overlooked. She’s unbeaten and very much an unknown quantity.

Bouttell expects a hostile reception tonight, but this is someone who moved from Nottingham to China as a teenager without speaking the language. New and unfamiliar surroundings shouldn’t faze her.

You may have heard the news yesterday that Wales' Lauren Price is going to defend her unified welterweight world titles against Puerto Rican challenger Stephanie Pineiro Aquino on Saturday, 4 April at Cardiff's Utilita Arena live on BBC Two.

Price has not fought since adding the WBC and IBF belts to her WBA crown with a dominant points win over Natasha Jonas in London last March.

    Murtazaliev v Kelly

BBC Sport at Utilita Arena, Newcastle

It’s 10 years this summer since Josh Kelly represented Great Britain at the Olympics.

Kelly was highly regarded as an amateur - tipped to be a star in the professional ranks - but his journey to a world title shot has been slower than anticipated.

Of the 12 members of that 2016 Team GB boxing squad in Rio, four have won world titles - Savannah Marshall even going undisputed - and two have retired.

But Kelly told me last week that he is a “late developer” and feels he is just coming into his prime at 31 years old.

  20. Hennessy eyes historypublished at 20:11 GMT 31 January

    Hennessy v Bouttell

There was talk of Francesca Hennessy becoming the youngest ever undisputed champion in boxing.

The clock is ticking on that goal as Gabriela Fundora was 22 when she achieved that feat at flyweight.

Hennessy turns 22 in October. But if she beats Ellie Boutell tonight, she should be in prime position with the WBC to fight Cherneka Johnson, who holds all the bantamweight belts.
