Premiership leaders Northampton Saints are planning to change the club crest they have used since the 1950s.

"Rugby doesn't feature in a list of top 20 sports for Generation Z right now, people under the age of 26.

"We're not creating enough appeal," chief executive Mark Darbon tells BBC Radio Northampton.

"An evolution of a crest is not going to change that but it's part of a picture about building for the future.

"Most people see the crest on social media and, when you shrink it down, it loses some of its context and appeal."
