Goalkeeper Brian Maher has signed a new two-year deal at Derry City, which will keep him at the club until 2026.
The 24-year-old arrived at the start of 2022 from Bray Wanderers and has made over 100 appearances for the club.
The former Republic of Ireland Under-21 stopper helped the Candystripes win the FAI Cup in 2022 as they beat Shelbourne 4-0 in the decider.
There was speculation about the Dublin native's future after Derry's FAI Cup final defeat to Drogheda in November as he was out of contract after that game.
But despite offers "in Ireland and beyond" according to Derry, Maher has extended his stay at the Brandywell under new boss Tiernan Lynch.
"I am absolutely delighted to extend my contract with Derry City. Derry has been my home for the last three years and I have built up a special relationship with the supporters and that is something that I cherish," he told the club's website.
"After sitting down with those around me and taking a bit of time to weigh everything up I decided this was where I wanted to be and to try put right what happened at the end of last year.
"Having spoken to Tiernan and listening to his plans for the club, I am excited to play my part, and I look forward to getting stuck in."
Maher has become the second player to commit his future to the club in recent days following midfielder Adam O'Reilly, who also penned a two-year extension on Sunday.
