As one of Monarch's much-loved original
cast members, Sandy admits he'll have a lump in his throat as he watches
the cameras pulling away from Glenbogle for the very last time at the end
of this series.
"There will be tears, I have absolutely no doubt about that," reveals Sandy.
"It's going to be a real heart-tugger for me. When the final credits roll
I know I'll be incredibly sad because I've had a smashing experience on
this show.
"I still can't believe we've been at it for seven years, it's such a long
time, yet it seems to have gone by in the click of a finger," reflects Sandy.
"I am just glad the BBC care about the show so much and it's brilliant we've
been given the chance to say goodbye to the characters, to the place and
to each other, properly."
And it's not just Sandy who will be tearful this series - emotions are also
running high for Golly.
"Golly is in a completely different situation this series - one which is
alien to him. Rather than being the independent loner we've all come to
know and love, suddenly he's in a position where he needs to let his guard
down and turn to his family and friends - in particular Molly - for help.
While Sandy won't reveal whether there'll be a happy ending for Golly and
Molly this series, the popular actor has been enjoying some wedding bells
of his own. "I've just got married for the third time - and the last,' he
says, grinning. So will Sandy be taking any souvenirs from the Monarch set
back to his home in West London?
"I've got my eye on the hat and the kilt. The hat has been in the show right
from the very beginning - it's almost as famous as Golly is."
