Madainn mhath a-rithist a h-uile duine!
Tha fhios agam gu bheil e anmoch ach bha mi ag iarraidh bruidhinn ribh! Tha sinn aig an leasan mu dheireadh … chan urrainn dhomh sin a chreidsinn!
I know it is late, but I wanted to talk to you. We’ve reached the final lesson for the year … I can’t believe it! The time has flown and it has been a wonderful adventure! I think our travellers have all learnt a lot about the Highlands and Islands, the Gaelic language and, of course, about themselves.
I think Seanair and Munro have grown a lot closer, although Munro won’t admit it! I’ve been watching him keeping an eye on his old grandfather … after a year of activity he has now started to catch up with Seanair, as opposed to having to watch him disappearing into the distance up the nearest mountain slope!
Morag and Melodaidh have become close friends, even although they are still rather different as individuals. It has been lovely to watch them getting to know each other. Even Brochan and I have reached an understanding – if I stay away from his crisps everything seems to be fine!
There’s still plenty to learn, and our newest lesson features lots of exciting and useful phrases that will help you to make the most of the festive season. Don’t forget the latest animation either – I’ve got a wee surprise in store for our ‘famous five’! “Ho-ho-ho” as my old friend Santa Claus is so fond of saying. In fact, I’m sure I’ll see him soon so I’d better go and write him a letter!
Chì mi a-rithist sibh!
Le dùrachdan,
Dwelly

Halò a-rithist!
A bheil sibh gu math? A bheil sibh cinnteach? Glè mhath …
I’ve set our travellers a wee test for December. Well, I couldn’t let the last month come and go without giving them something to do. Ha-ha! I’ve decided that they should set off from Inverness, where their adventure began in January, and make their way to Glasgow which has the largest number of Gaelic speakers outside the Highlands and Islands.
I haven’t insisted that they walk the whole way – I’ve given them the chance to travel by means other than foot, which should keep them all happy. Seanair can walk and the rest can take the train – I think that’s what Seanair would prefer!!
Tìoraidh an-dràsta,
Dwelly

Ciamar a tha sibh? Tha Latha na Nollaig a’ tighinn! Dè tha dol? Tha Melodaidh, Seanair, Morag, Munro agus Brochan a’ coiseachd an-dràsta eadar Inbhir Nis agus Glaschu. That’s correct – our five adventurers are continuing their Gaelic pilgrimage from the new Gaelic school in Inverness to the Gaelic school in Glasgow. Due to Munro’s reticence, they haven’t walked the entire distance so I’ve given them a little help along the way!
I think it’s a nice little challenge to set them for their final month exploring the Highlands, and it’s given them a chance to visit a few well-trodden paths, reacquaint themselves with old haunts and explore some new locations as they go. Even Brochan doesn’t mind the walking too much, but, of course, you know why that is!
Oidhche mhath, a chàirdean!

Uill, tha sinn aig deireadh na bliadhna. Tha e gu bhith meadhan-oidhche. Tha e gu bhith 2008!! Abair thusa gun do chòrd am bliadhna rium, agus tha mi an dòchas gun do chòrd e ribh uile.
We’re at the end of the year, it’s almost midnight. In fact, it is almost 2008. I’ve really enjoyed this year, and I hope you did, too.
Remember that all of our lessons and cartoons, our guidebooks and maps will still be there, even after the clock strikes midnight. Cinderella might have had a few problems, but no such difficulties for old Dwelly. Keep learning and supporting Gaelic!
Thig a chèilidh orm ma bhios sibh anns a’ Ghaidhealtachd!
Mar sin leibh, a chàirdean … an-dràsta! Ha-ha!!
Dwelly
