John Taylor's Story

Uncle John became a Lance Sergeant

With the East Lancs Regt. Sadly he died on 21st July 1917, aged just 18 years. He is buried in Vlamertinghe New Militray Cemetary, in a small village in Belgium.

Family tradition suggests that John joined the army aged around 15 years old and that he may have served at Gallipoli.
