Claude Augustus's Story

This was the last letter he wrote to his mother; I shall treasure it.

Claude was my great-uncle on my dad’s side. I have been passed a letter that was written on 29 September 1918 by Claude to his mother. It is a poignant letter that stresses that times were very rough and goes on to say that ‘you must have seen it in the papers’. This was the last letter he wrote to his mother; I shall treasure it.
