"Radio 4's documentary about the Voynich Manuscript was fascinating, discussing the puzzling designs and inscriptions. My pictures also feature curious designs and interwoven descriptions. Leading Edge and In Our Time bring ideas to me and can lead to better compositions and motifs. The news brings topical information, which I like to install into the composition. The finished pictures have a complexity perhpas not seen since the mediaeval illuminated manuscripts, which Radio 4 has also documented down the years. The Derby Tape Club, and other documentaries, help one's imagination, and keep me cheerful in the long hours of radio inspired art."
