"Listening to Radio 4 allows me to be entertained mentally with the many and varied programmes while I physically produce a piece of art work. Recently I produced this portrait of my nearest and dearest while listening to people discussing their problems with their nearest and dearest. It seems curious that there I was drawing a very personal portrait, while everyone else was producing a verbal portrait of their situations, the radio being the catalyst to both portraits."
