Books are Boring, says Tim by Pat Williams

"I led a solitary existence in my Zambian studio until I was given a short-wave radio and introduced to the BBC World Service, my favourite programme being Outlook with John Tidmarsh. Back in the UK I listen to Radio 4 dawn till dusk (World Service in the small hours), sometimes finding inspiration from a chance remark, as in 'Books are Boring, says Tim'. Two years ago on the Today programme, I heard Tim Henman declare to the world that he doesn't read books as they are boring. Not a good example for his young admirers - hence the satirical painting!"
