BBC announces new supplier for Media Planning and Buying

The BBC has appointed Media Planning Group as its new media agency it was announced today, completing a formal review begun in October 2006.

Media Planning Group (MPG) will work with the BBC's Marketing department to plan and buy media space for specific marketing campaigns, and to provide market insight and analysis.

Tim Davie, BBC Director of Marketing, Communications and Audiences, says: "I am delighted to welcome Media Planning Group to the BBC - they have a proven track record of delivering innovative and inspiring media solutions.

"I was particularly impressed with their management skills and the breadth of the team's expertise, as well as their strong digital capabilities.

"They will make excellent partners and I very much look forward to working with them."

Commencing on 1 May 2007, Media Planning Group will work across the BBC's public service portfolio which includes BBC One, BBC Two, its digital channels, radio networks and other new media services.

The process is part of a formal review of the BBC's media planning and buying account, a statutory review which is required to satisfy the BBC's obligations under the EU Public Procurement Regulations.
