Robert Portal is Paul Critchley
Paul Critchley pits Catherine Walker against Mrs Pritchard on Newsnight to try and decimate her in the lead-up to the General Election.
Unfortunately for him and the Conservative Party, this results in Catherine's untimely defection to the Purple Alliance and her becoming Chancellor of the Exchequer, while he remains in opposition.
After election, Paul Critchley becomes leader of the opposition and finds himself opposite his old colleague in the House Of Commons.
Robert Portal - Biography
Robert is currently on stage in Lindsay Posner's production of Tom And Viv and The Almeida.
As well as his role in The Amazing Mrs Pritchard, Robert has recently filmed the role of Mr Gaiter in the television production of Terry Pratchett's Hogfather; and Selwyn Robert's film, Heroes and Villains.
Other television work includes The Queen's Sister; The Thick Of It; Clocking Off; Rosemary & Thyme; In Your Dreams and Distant Shores.
Film roles include Cedric in Stiff Upper Lips and Young Richard in Mrs Dalloway; and in 2001 he appeared in The Armando Iannucci Shows for BBC TWO.
