16,000 New Listeners For BBC Southern Counties Radio


In the first three months of 2003 BBC Southern Counties Radio has gained 16,000 new listeners, taking the number of people tuning in each week up to 353,000, according to the latest figures issued by RAJAR today (Thursday 8 May 2003).


Breakfast Show presenter, Joanne Good, who recorded her highest ever figures, says: "It's a real privilege to broadcast in Brighton and equally lovely to know so many people enjoy listening."


Andy Griffee, BBC Controller, English Regions says: "BBC local radio reaches millions and is a lifeline to many.


"I would like to thank the extraordinary people who work so hard to produce the exceptional, quality service we offer for another great showing."
