2. 2 August 2024States for northern Nigeria impose curfew

   Some states across Nigeria don impose curfew afta suspected thugs hijack di nationwide protest against di cost of living wey start on 1 August.

   Demonstrators for all major cities enta streets, begin chant slogans like: “We dey hungry, end bad governance", among odas.

   Di protest wey bin start peacefully bin turn violent for some northern states as suspected hoodlums hijack am and use di opportunity for widespread looting and destruction of property.

   States like Kano, Yobe, Nasarawa, Katsina and Borno compulsory curfew for some of di volatile local goment areas for di states.

   Di curfew no be for di whole day, some na for 24 hours only while some odas na from morning to evening - dusk to dawn.

   Di curfew don effectively bar protests from continuing for dis states and all residents dey expected to stay for house.

   All eyes bin dey ontop Lagos state wey be di home state of President Bola Tinubu and sake of say na wia e be former govnor.

   Early morning Thursday 1 August 2024, di protesters for Lagos bin show face wit massive crowd wey trek from Ikeja reach Ojota area of di state.

   Di men of di Nigeria Police guard di protesters as dem waka peacefully.

   Even di Lagos Commissioner of Police bin come to address di protesters say make di protest no lead to violence and dem go arrest anybody wey wan scatter di peaceful march.

   Around 4pm, protesters begin dey comot di venue of di protest for Ojota as organizers advice say make dem dey go house and resume di next day.

   Meanwhile, for Lagos, small gbege bin happun between di police and protesters for Ojota.
