DUP politicians met Bill Clinton during his visits to Northern Ireland but
this is the first time that Mr Paisley has gone to the White House during
St Patrick's week. DUP MP William McCrea said yesterday that not only should
the US be outlawing the Real IRA "but also their fellow travellers the Provisional IRA and the Continuity IRA". Alliance leader Sean Neeson said that at today's
White House reception he would update President Bush on the current political
situation. "As we prepare to celebrate St Patrick's day again, I will impress upon the new president the importance of the relationship between Northern Ireland and the United States." "I will be stressing to him the importance of the United States' involvement in the peace process and its inward investment here, " Mr Neeson said. |
