A lost moment on permanent display.
Inertia creeps onto the landscape,
Taking over like rain on sand.
We can’t escape
But we try to gnaw and fight back.
Our enemies are refractions, opaque,
Merciless to a degree.
We can keep on walking backwards
But we won’t get any younger.
The lines are there to teach us
But we cover them up in many different ways.
It will never change what’s inside though
And that’s what’s really rotting with every word we speak.
We all made it through lying
But now we’re not even trying.
