As a man in his 40's I prefer to think of myself as growing young. There is a little voice telling me that reaching "middle age" is not something to worry about....it simply will never happen! I have been writing poetry on and off for years. I prefer plain speaking so the reader knows where I am coming from - I hope you enjoy the poems as much as I enjoyed writing them - I have more! Be With Me by Mel Lewis
Stand with me on a mountain
And we'll look down on the world
Walk with me in the garden
And witness natures beauty unfurled
Come with me and we'll spend time
Contemplating Gods endeavour
Lay with me and we'll think about
What it means to say forever

A poem with layer upon layer of meaning. Again, the mass of detail works really well.
