International Dog Day is a good day to set aside some extra time for your pet and show them how much they mean to you.
From tiny puppies to giant Great Danes, dogs come in all shapes, sizes and personalities.
Dogs aren't just amazing pets, they can be real-life heroes too.
Some specially trained dogs support people who are blind or who have other visual impairments get around safely, while others can use their incredible sense of smell to help doctors spot certain conditions.
Dogs can also work alongside the emergency services, helping to find missing people and keeping people safe.
Of course, not every dog has a job to do - but that doesn't mean they aren't talented.
Perhaps your pooch is great at learning tricks, finding things you've lost or can sniff out a treat from miles away.
Don't forget to tell us what you love about your dog in the comments below.
