Should children be allowed to stay up to watch England v Mexico?

- Published
The England manager has said that children should be able to skip school so they can watch the team's next World Cup game.
After a 2-1 victory over DR Congo, the Three Lions next face co-hosts Mexico in their capital, Mexico City, on Monday for a place in the quarter-finals, but kick-off will be at 1am in the morning, UK time.
"Write an excuse for school and let them watch football. There's so much school to go to but [the] World Cup is [only] every four years," Thomas Tuchel said.
Is he right to suggest children should be able to skip school, stay up and watch the match, or do you think should families just come up with another option?
Let us know below what you think, and how you are planning on watching the match in the comments below.

'Write an excuse for school' - Tuchel
England manager Thomas Tuchel explained that he would like to see children be able to enjoy the match.
"Let them watch, it will be a big, big match in four days and we need the support of everyone and especially of the children."
Newsround has approached the Department of Education for a response to what he said, but as it stands, school children in England will be expected to attend school on Monday morning.
The Government haven't made an official response yet, however speaking on the radio Skills Minister Baroness Jacqui Smith said: "I don't want to be a killjoy here, but I'll tell you what the biggest killjoy is - young people who then don't have the learning to be able to go on and do what they need to do in life.
"I quite understand if people want to watch the match, including young people, I will be.
"I'll be having a little disco nap in the afternoon and I'll be celebrating our victory the next morning when I go into work, looking obviously as fresh as a daisy."
What happened with Scotland's late night matches?

Scotland fans had to deal with some late night matches too
Scotland had a similar issue earlier in the tournament. Their first group match against Haiti kicked off at 2am UK time.
Because the game began in the early hours of the morning, some parts of Scotland had a special bank holiday, which was approved by King Charles, the following day.
Some schools and local councils in Scotland decided to close, giving children a chance to rest after what was a very late night.
But, not every school decided took the day off, and some children had to head to school the next morning.
Why is the England match in the middle of the night?

England are heading to one of football's most iconic stadiums and Mexico's national stadium - Estadio Azteca - for their next match
This summer's World Cup is taking place in various cities across three neighbouring countries in North America - the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Due to the time difference between the UK and North America - all the games have been kicking off in the late afternoon through to the early hours of the morning UK time.
When England play Mexico on Monday in Mexico City, the game will kick-off at 6pm local time - but in the UK that means it will be 1am, as we are seven hours ahead.
