BBC Radio 1 presenter Greg James has been telling listeners about his trip to New York City for the wedding of global music star Taylor Swift and American football player Travis Kelce.

Greg returned to his Breakfast Show on Wednesday after attending the celebration with his wife, author Bella Mackie.

The event was kept very secret before it happened, which made fans even more excited to find out what it would be like. Speaking on his radio show, Greg said: "It was unbelievably fun."

Keeping the invitation a secret was tricky. Greg explained: "I didn't tell any of my friends, I could [only] tell Bella as she was invited as well. I couldn't even tell my boss, I just took annual leave."

According to reports, around 1,000 guests attended, including famous faces from music, films and sport. Greg said the number of well-known people in one place was hard to believe.

He told listeners: "Every 10 seconds it was a room full of the most famous people in the world."

Greg compared it to visiting a famous waxwork museum, saying: "It was like going to Madame Tussauds but the wax was animated and you could interact with the wax and it talked back to you, it was absolutely mad."

Although he said he couldn't reveal every detail, Greg shared a few fun facts. He managed to say hello to the newlyweds, but explained they were very busy greeting guests.

The celebration sounds like it was full of treats too. Greg said there was no formal sit-down meal, but guests could enjoy lots of different food throughout the event. He also revealed: "There were multiple cakes."

While live on the show, James produced "two little doilies", which he took as keepsakes from the day.
