    A national charity that supports people with disfigurements has opened a new clinic for patients across Leeds today.

    The new Changing Faces, external clinic at Street Lane Practice in Roundhay offers psychological support and social skills training, as well as skin camouflage, to people with scars, injuries or conditions that affect their appearance.

    Work is nearly complete on a new safety shield at a Leeds skyscraper, external plagued by a dangerous 'wind tunnel' effect during stormy conditions.

    Castleford's new £6m bus station will officially open its doors to the public this weekend.

    West Yorkshire Combined Authority, external says it will offer up to 12,000 travellers a comfortable and secure transport hub from Sunday.

    In addition to a covered waiting concourse, the new bus station features 24-hour monitored CCTV coverage, electronic departure information and passenger help points

    It could be months before a suspect in a deadly arson attack in Huddersfield over a decade ago is brought back to Britain to face justice.

    Shahid Mohammed is being detained in Pakistan, after skipping bail here in 2002.

    BBC News Online reports more than 1,000 jobs will be lost as Kirklees Council cuts £69m from its budget over the next three years.

    The council, which is under no overall control, voted to raise council tax by 1.95%.

    The budget was passed by Labour and Green councillors voting together. The Conservatives had wanted to freeze council tax.

    The charity established in the name of Leeds fundraiser Jane Tomlinson has announced it is to fund a special research project to help improve the lives of people with cancer.

    The funding, from the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, external, will be used by scientists at Leeds Beckett University, external to discover whether a special kind of sports tape could give patients relief from their symptoms.

    The research project was one of Mrs Tomlinson's final wishes before she lost her battle with cancer in 2007 after raising millions of pounds for charity.

    The relatives of eight people, killed in an arson attack in Huddersfield more than a decade ago, are being warned their ordeal isn't over yet.

    That's despite the arrest of one of the main suspects in Pakistan.

    More than a thousand Kirklees Council, external workers could face redundancy and council tax is going up by almost 2%.

    That's after the council agreed a package of cost-cutting measures at a budget meeting in Huddersfield last night.
