An e-fit image of a man believed to have been involved in a robbery outside a bank near Hull last week has been issued by police.

A security guard was threatened by two men during the robbery outside the Barclays Bank in Hessle at about 13:20 last Tuesday during which a case was stolen.

The suspects then left the area in a red Renault Clio. The security guard was unhurt in the incident.

The man in the e-fit image is described as white, about 6ft tall, of medium build or well-built and wearing a blue hooded top and jeans.

The other suspect is described as white, slightly small with a medium build and wearing a dark hooded top.

Anyone with information about the robbery is being asked to contact police.

Police in Hull are asking for witnesses to a collision between a van and last week.

It happened at about 07:00 on Wednesday on Hall Road at the roundabout junction with Cottingham Road.   

The collision was between a white Ford Transit van and a pedal cycle and left the cyclist needing treatment for minor injuries at Hull Royal Infirmary.

The driver of the van was uninjured.  

Anyone who saw the collision is being asked to contact police.

East Yorkshire's new and established artists have found a new way to get their work seen by a wider audience.

It's been called The Creative Lab and it's a shared retail space for artists to display and sell their work at the Flemingate Centre in Beverley.  

Beverley-based artists Mikey Mathieson and Chris Kidd (pictured below), whose brainchild it is, say it'll give artists, designers and inventors the support and resources to get their art seen.

A Hull man says the Ings Estate in Hull is turning into a "warzone" following the latest arson attack there.

Six properties were burned to the ground on Friday night, and police believe the blaze was started deliberately. 

Sam Harrison, who lives on the estate, says despite the ongoing regeneration work, the area is becoming an eyesore and it's "embarassing":

Police say they are working closely with Hull City Council and Humberside Fire and Rescue Service to deal with arson attacks in the area.

A 65-year-old East Yorkshire cancer survivor is training for a staggering nine-week cycle ride to visit 35 cancer units across the UK.

During the bleakest times of his three-year illness, what kept Paul Whymant from Beverley going was poetry and, when fit enough, cycling. 

Now, he's combining the two interests to take one of his poems, Red Leather, Yellow Feather to other cancer units and spreading the sense of positivity he says it inspired in him. 

He's also plans to compile an anthology of poetry by cancer sufferers, all raising money for Macmillan Cancer Research.   

Paul's ride sets off from Tickton Grange in Beverley on May Day and he plans to pedal 1,500 miles on a route through Yorkshire, the Midlands, East Anglia, London, the South Coast, West Country, North West, North East and Scotland to deliver and read his poem at each location. 

An investigation by the BBC shows a 17% increase in the number of potential victims of human trafficking in Yorkshire. 

In 2016, there were over 300 people suspected to have been affected. 

Despite laws being introduced to tackle the issue, the Home Office estimates there are up to 13,000 victims of modern slavery in the country.

A former Hull FC player and war hero is being honoured in the city today.

John Harrison was more commonly known as Jack and  played for the rugby league side before joining the 11th East Yorkshire Regiment in August 1916 .

He died during First World War's Oppy Wood engagement on the Western Front, and received the Victoria Cross for his efforts.

A special paving stone will be unveiled today at the Hull History Centre as part of a series of events marking 100 years since his death

The RSPCA could close in Hull if they can't raise enough money to upgrade their facilities.

The charity needs £1m to rebuild their kennels and new animal care blocks on Clough Road, which looks after animals who have been mistreated.

It would mean huge numbers of dogs, cats and ferrets could be left without a home.

They say their current animal accommodation doesn't meet the current RSPCA welfare standards:

Environment campaigners in our region are calling for greater awareness of the harm plastic is doing to our seas. 

It comes as scientists plan to harvest waste material from UK beaches to make bottles instead of using new plastic. 

It's part of an effort to reduce the impact plastics have on marine life.

The operators of Hull and Immingham Ports, Associated British Ports (ABP), has announced a £50m investment in the sites.

The firm says there's been a 41% growth in use of the ports since 2013, with the trend expected to continue.

It will put in new cranes and double the capacity of both container terminals.

Humberside Police want to speak to Thomas Edgar (pictured) in connection with a number of serious offences including wounding, assault, dangerous driving and criminal damage.

He is believed to be in the Brumby area of Scunthorpe and people are urged to call 101 quoting reference 2257728 if they know where he is.

Humberside Police say four of their officers were attacked in two separate incidents in Grimsby over the weekend. 

One Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) was bitten and three others were left covered in blood. 

The first incindent saw a PCSO bitten on the arm as they tried to restrain a 32-year-old woman who will now appear in court charged with wounding with intent and for breach of a criminal behaviour order. 

A second incident left three officers spattered with blood as they attempted to arrest a 22-year-old man. He's now been charged with three offences including assault of a police officer, making threats and using threatening behaviour.

A man has appeared via video link in Hull Crown Court in connection with a series of alleged gunpoint carjackings in Hull and East Yorkshire.

Leon Ndenu, 23, has been charged with four counts each of robbery and attempted robbery, two counts of assault with intent to rob and possessing a firearm in a public place.  

Mr Ndenu, of no fixed address, entered no plea at court today.

The case has been adjourned until 28 April.
