As part of a day focused on social care stories, the BBC has been to visit Margaret Norris in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
She enjoys sharing fish and chips and having a Facebook scroll with her 74-year-old daughter, Jean.
"Mum likes doing online shopping - she buys a lot of clothes," Jean chuckles. "I do have to rein her in a bit."
The pair also like going to church together every Sunday.
Margaret admits she was reluctant to accept the help of district nurses at first.
"I like to do things my own way," she says. "But they come in and do a good job and I really appreciate it."

John Blandamour's life turned upside down after his mum had a catastrophic accident when he was just 12 years old.
She was in a stationary car when it was hit by another driver. As well as physical injuries she had a breakdown, including a stay in psychiatric hospital.
John became her full-time carer at the family home in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, before his teens and has now been looking after her for a decade.
He says he'd have arguments about his mum's prescriptions with GP receptionists who "couldn't fathom that a kid was trying to talk to them on their mum's behalf because she couldn't get out of bed".
John has been campaigning to help other young carers since he was fifteen and wants them to get help and not suffer alone.

Starting the day at 5am and helping to empty the region's 17,000 bins, refuse workers are the frontline of waste disposal.
I spent the day with them to see for myself what they like - and don't like about the job.
The bin teams enjoy fresh air and camaraderie but have to put up with unpleasant smells and, sometimes, bad-tempered residents.
