Latest forecast as Storm Chandra brings rain and wind to UK
The Met Office has said further rain is expected and may lead to more flooding and transport disruption in the south west of England on Thursday afternoon.
Dorset is one of the areas which now has a yellow warning for rain between midday and midnight on Thursday.
Image source, Met OfficeThe A35 in Dorset remains closed due to flooding at the Bakers Arms Roundabout in Lytchett Minster.
Many minor roads roads across Hampshire and Dorset are also impassable.
Great Western Railway says there are delays to service between Yeovil Pen Mill and Weymouth, and cancellations to service between Salisbury and Southampton.
Hovertravel confirms services are operating on time.
Some young people will get the day off school as Chandra forces widespread closures - particularly in south-west England.
Dorset Council is reporting 12 closures, with five schools partially open, external.
Steve Ravenscroft said he helped recover four vehicles at Toll Bar Road in Hedge End, Hampshire, earlier this morning.

Its shop will be open for any indoor supplies but the "Ivy House and the outdoor areas will be closed for today", the online post adds.

Dorchester Fire Station has confirmed the A37 is currently closed one way near Stratton, causing long delays.
"There is a crew on scene trying to manage the traffic until support arrives," it says.
"Please note the road to Bradford Peverell is also flooded so please check your route before you travel today."

Madeleine Durie shared this video in a local Facebook group showing the extent of the flooding by the ford in Brockenhurst.
She said: "The levels are dropping slightly (it’s all relative) but still very high. Hasn’t rained for the last 90 mins but starting again so please stay clear."
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service has issued a flooding safety warning, external, asking people to "take extra care" if they are travelling.
"Emergency crews have rescued several people from vehicles stranded in floodwater this morning," it added,
Rebecca Hignett and other residents helped rescue a car that became stuck at Radipole Lane in Weymouth.

As she drove into Corfe Castle she said the flooding “felt like driving through a river in places”.
She said the fire service was turning people back “unless an emergency”.
