Lisa Bowerman from Stump Cross Caverns in the Yorkshire Dales says it's all clear there.

Despite being based on higher ground outside Pateley Bridge covered by the yellow weather warning, she tells BBC Radio York that not a spot of snow has been seen at the underground cave attraction.

“All the staff are coming to work with their overnight bags in case,” she adds.

In previous years, however, she says visitors have made special visits during the snow.

“The minute the snow comes and they know that it comes, they will drive up - and sales of ice cream go up as well!

“They sit and they have a hot chocolate, then they have an ice cream.”

Storm Goretti arrived in Slaithwaite, Huddersfield, around 21:30 last night.

Half an hour later the first gritter, with snowplough, was out.

    Flurries continued throughout the night.

Cut to 07:30 today and there is a light blanket of snow across higher areas.

The roads are usable thanks to another pass down the road from the gritter around 06:30.

Temperatures seem warmer than last week’s icy cold levels.

But it is slippy on the pavements and unsalted walkways - as I know after taking a tumble.

  3. Snow causes some public transport disruptionpublished at 08:09 GMT 9 January

The snow has caused disruption to travel networks across South Yorkshire.

Travel South Yorkshire has tweeted that some services are disrupted including bus routes in Rotherham and Sheffield.

A full list of services affected can be found here, external.

I'm now at St James Retail Park in Meadhowhead.

The team here have been expertly shovelling snow and clearing plenty of parking spaces.

Traffic is now flowing freely on Jordanthorpe Parkway next door.

Buses are going past but some services have been disrupted.

Some side roads which haven't been gritted are proving tricky for people with a few cars in a zig-zag.

  5. Katerina's here with the latestpublished at 07:55 GMT 9 January

    Good morning!

I just recorded this forecast before dialling in to speak to your local BBC radio station.

The thing with snow, is it's tricky to predict and as soon as I had finished the above forecast, the picture changed a little.

Any snow on Sunday could be a little earlier - think in the afternoon rather than overnight.

    Stay safe!

  6. Lorry crash on M1published at 07:53 GMT 9 January

    Jude Winter
    BBC East Midlands

National Highways says three lanes are closed on the M1 northbound betweem Junction 28 for Mansfield and Junction 29 for Chesterfield following a crash involving a lorry.

It says recovery is under way and winter fleet vehicles are en route to clear snow that has settled in closed lanes.

The incident has led to delays of up to 30 minutes and four miles of congestion.

  7. Snow? What snow?published at 07:44 GMT 9 January

You’d be forgiven for expecting a white dusting on The Stray in Harrogate, often a popular spot for snowman-building.

The town is covered by both yellow Met Office weather warnings in force in North Yorkshire, but it seems here - and across North Yorkshire - we’ve escaped the worst of Storm Goretti. Or any of it. The Stray looks the same as it does every other day of the winter, with runners and dog-walkers starting their Fridays, albeit with one or two frozen puddles.

Parts of the county have seen rain and sleet showers overnight, with some icy patches on higher ground from snow earlier in the week, but on traffic cameras and social media across North Yorkshire, I can’t see any significant snowfall.

  8. Buses stuck in snow last nightpublished at 07:34 GMT 9 January

BBC Radio York sports reporter Peter Spencer captured this snowy scene in Meresbrook last night.

The winter weather caused problems on Norton Leeds Road where buses struggled to get through and cars were abandoned.

  9. Mixed snow picture across the regionpublished at 07:21 GMT 9 January

Met Office warnings remain in place this morning for snow but it’s a mixed picture weather wise across South Yorkshire.

The higher ground has seen the brunt of the downfall with plenty of snow in parts of north Sheffield.

BBC Radio Sheffield reporter Simon Thake is in Meadowhead where there has been several inches of snow overnight.

It’s a major route in to Sheffield so it’s causing disruption for people trying to get into the city centre.

Simon says: "Where I'm perched on Norton Lane, a few people have been digging their cars out of their drive already."

Elsewhere, there's a sigh of relief in Doncaster where the lack of white stuff means people can get on with their mornings as normal.

Despite warnings yesterday that trains would be cancelled, the majority of services are running as normal.

  10. West Yorkshire pretty clearpublished at 07:11 GMT 9 January

Some snow has fallen in West Yorkshire but drizzle overnight has removed much of it.

Below are pictures from Kirklees sent to us just before midnight and, at the bottom, a shot of Ryhill near Wakefield just after 21:00.

    Simon Thake
    in Sheffield

Here is Meadowhead there is about four inches of snow.

The traffic on the main roads is moving - and bus services appear to be operating, but do check your local services.

Some side roads are struggling with snow and ice and people are beginning to clear cars and paths.

The rain is now starting to fall so some of this snow will wash away but there could be disruption as a result of the weather

  12. Snow in parts of Sheffieldpublished at 07:00 GMT 9 January

    Simon Thake
    in Sheffield

I was at the Meadowhead Roundabout at 06:00 GMT and it's fair to say there is a proper covering.

Traffic was still getting through but it wasn't easy and the conditions underfoot were a bit slippy.

  13. Weather warnings remains in placepublished at 06:54 GMT 9 January

Three weather warnings remain in place in parts of Yorkshire this morning.

An amber warning for snow issued on Thursday covers parts of West and South Yorkshire and is in place until 09:00.

A yellow warning for snow also covers North, West and South Yorkshire and is in place until noon.

A yellow warning for snow and ice is also in place until noon and covers North Yorkshire.

The Met Office said Storm Goretti was likely to bring heavy snow leading to disruption and dangerous travelling conditions.

  14. What is it like at classic TV snow spot?published at 06:53 GMT 9 January

I'm at the BBC office in Leeds city centre and it's fair to say there's not a flake of the white stuff.

On my way into work this morning I swung by Ainley Top in Huddersfield, scene of countless TV broadcasts when the snow hits, and there was a bit of sleet and damp snow clearing.

The M62 between Huddersfield and Leeds was remarkably clear in both directions, so any travel issues on there (which there invariably are) will be as a result of traffic rather than the weather at this stage.

  15. Good morningpublished at 06:47 GMT 9 January

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of Storm Goretti's impact on Yorkshire.

We'll be across North, South and West Yorkshire seeing what, if any, snow stories are ongoing.

The initial picture is that much of the county appears to have avoivded serious snow - but some parts of South Yorkshire, in particular sections of Sheffield, have had a decent downfall.
