  1. Dan from Bastille is excited for Rag'N'Bone Manpublished at 18:49 GMT 22 February 2017

So Bastille finally made it on to the carpet (scroll down for their late tube dash).

Dan from the band stopped for a chat on the red carpet and said there was some scrutiny on them to follow up their debut album with their second effort Wild World.

"I guess there was a bit of pressure but most of it came from us. We wanted it to be good and interesting and satisfying.

"It's good that we still have a job a year on, that's lucky."

Not a big fan then? He also revealed he is most looking forward to seeing Rag'N'Bone Man, as he's signed to his own label.

"He's on my and my mate's independent record label and it's the first record we've released and to see him smash it, is so great."

    Cha ching.

Anne Marie, Lianne La Havas and Rita Ora have added some glamour to the red carpet tonight.

  3. Emeli Sande is 'proud' of the Brits for efforts on diversitypublished at 18:25 GMT 22 February 2017

    Emeli SandeImage source, Getty Images

Emeli Sande is up for best Britsh female tonight, in a pretty tough category.

She is also performing live and admits that that is what she is most nervous about.

"I really want it to go well, she told BBC News. "Its the only thing iI have any control over. I want to win but we'll see what happens.

"Rehearsals have gone great and I hope people will be moved."

Last year's Brits were accused of a lack of diversity and this year the voting system was overhauled.

"I think the Brits have reflected great artistry and reflect what's current," said Emeli.

"If you look at who's been nominated, its a reflection of what's touching people and what's moving especially young people. I'm proud of the Brits for telling the truth about whats going on in British music."

Katy Perry is in da house.

And listen up Yorkshire folk out there.  She has a tribute planned tonight to your national dish.

    We're not sure why though.

Maybe she thinks the O2 is in Leeds.

The 1975 and Stormzy are the best of British right now.

Quite literally...they're up British group and British breakthrough act respectively.

The Cheshire band have gone all out, sartorially-speaking.  Though singer Matty Healy - or should we say he who must not be named - seems to have come straight from the Harry Potter musical.

And we barely recognized Stormzy without his trackie bottoms.

    Good job old boy.

Well it could be a big night for Rag'N'Bone Man.

He's up for British breakthrough act, against Anne-Marie, Blossoms, Skepta and Stormzy.

    Tough category that one.

Our man Lizo Mzimba just caught up with him on the red carpet and, while he is dressed to kill, he seems rather relaxed about his rapid career trajectory:

    Quote Message

I don’t feel too much pressure. I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm doing, it seems to be working!"

On his current number one album, Human, also the fastest selling debut album by a solo male in a decade, he added:

    Quote Message

The fact that it did what it did is incredible really."

    And on the Brits...

    Quote Message

I used to watch it every time but I never thought I'd be here, so it’s a bit surreal for me. Forgive me if I look shell shocked."

    You sir, are forgiven.

So top work Blossoms who are, perhaps wisely given the rush hour traffic, heading to the Brits on the tube.

Do you reckon the Stockport band were heading down on the Northern line? Boom boom (more of them throughout the evening...)
