    Scots rocks Simple Minds have confirmed their show at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester will go ahead despite last night's bomb attack on the Manchester Arena.

    In a Facebook post, external, the band said: "The team at The Bridgewater Hall are aware of the heightened level of threat against venues across the country.

    "This evening’s performance featuring Simple Minds will proceed as planned...Patrons should plan for addition travel time to attend the performance and to allow for additional security checks."

    The band said they remained in communication with the police service and the relevant authorities and would "continually review" security and safety procedures.

    "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of anyone associated with the Manchester Arena incident," the statement added.

    The music venue is a mile from the scene of last night's concert attack.

    UK Music - the trade body which represents artists, composers and labels has offered its "deepest sympathies and condolences to all those affected" by the devastating attack on the Manchester Arena.

    Chief executive Michael Dugher said: "It is even more distressing that children and teenagers have been targeted.

    "We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our brave emergency services and the venue staff," he added.

    "Music has the power to bring people together and is so often a celebration of peace and love. We will not let terrorism and the politics of violence, hatred and division conquer that spirit."

    Like lots of other musicians today, the Toronto superstar is sending his condolences to the families of the 22 people killed and 59 injured at the end of Ariana Grande's gig at the Manchester Arena last night.

    Driake left a picture of Ariana's signature bunny ears design on Instagram and wrote "we will be praying for all of Manchester.

    Victoria Monet, who supported the pop star last night at the Manchester Arena has added her thoughts on last night's attack.

    The singer, whose track Better Days features Ariana, external and tackles themes of terrorism, says she's "hurt and frustrated" and "heartbroken", as well as adding that she "will never understand this hate!"

    The words of Ariana Grande following a suicide bomb attack at her show at the Manchester Arena on Monday night, which left 22 people dead and 59 injured.

    The blast happened soon after the 23-year-old singer had finished performing.

    Her manager Scooter Braun also posted a statement, external, saying "our hearts are broken".
