BBC Philharmonic Orchestra Studio Concerts Ginastera Piano Concerto No. 2

Join the BBC Philharmonic and Chief Conductor Juanjo Mena as they celebrate the Argentinean composer Alberto Ginastera’s centenary and pay tribute to Sir Peter Maxwell Davies.

Today’s programme opens with Maxwell Davies' The Fall of the Leafe, then followed by Ginastera’s Piano Concerto No. 2, a piece that pays homage to two musical masters: Beethoven and Chopin. Ginastera opens with a homage to Beethoven and ends it with passages inspired by Chopin.
