  6. How long is 100 metres, exactly?published at 16:36 BST 29 June 2017

    Time for a dumb question

So, we know for a fact that tonight’s runway for our opening show What Is The City But The People?, external is 100 metres long.

But what does that translate to, exactly?

We’ve hunted down some other things that are 100 metres in length, to give you some idea of the scale of the operation…

    Big Ben (about 96 metres)

    A football pitch (105 metres)

The Statue Of Liberty (92 metres)

    St Paul’s Cathedral (111 metres)

Usain Bolt can run 100 metres in 9.58 seconds. We think the people walking our runway might take a little longer than that - but hey, we live in hope.
