James: "No Easy Answers"

Buffy yet again deals sensitively and powerfully with a break-up as Oz and Willow hit the rails. Oz finds himself in a genuinely awkward, morally complex situation - but is he really taking the high ground in order to save lives, or to sleep with Veruca?

As always in Buffy, there are no easy answers - which makes such a nice change. It even helps that Oz's decision to go away - as Willow is quick to point out - may not be the right thing to do.

There's great ensemble playing, and Seth Green really shines, but the acting awards really belong to Alyson Hannigan as Willow. Perhaps the secret is that she's not afraid to look ugly when she cries.

Kim: "Unnatural feelings"

I love Buffy when it deals with issues in a balanced way - you can enjoy the rollicking story, but when you think about it afterwards you realise that you’ve just watched a serious moral dilemma being played out.

This episode is everything that Beer Bad isn’t. It’s all about self acceptance. If you’re different, do you learn to embrace that difference and revel in it, or do you sideline it, keeping those ‘unnatural feelings’ in check?

And of course, you’ve got many more issues if your little problem means you get a taste for gnawing people to death...
